Women's Volleyball

Volleyball was one of the original seven sports that comprised the UMass Boston varsity program when the Beacons joined NCAA competition in 1980.

As a member of the Little East Conference, which began official round-robin league play in 1998, UMass Boston faces some of the top regional foes in addition to its challenging non-league schedule.  The conference champion receives an automatic bid into the NCAA national championship tournament.

UMass Boston has qualified for the post-season on two occasions, most recently in 1996 when they advanced to the MAIAW state tournament and finished with a 16-6 record.

The Beacons posted their best record ever in 1999 with a 22-5 mark for an .815 winning percentage and posted an 18-10 mark in 2006, while Kate White was named the LEC Rookie of the Year and Terry Condon was tabbed the league’s top coach.
