Women's Ice Hockey

The women’s ice hockey program at UMass Boston has been one of the most successful in the region since its inception in 2003-2004. With multiple appearances in the ECAC East playoffs, the Beacons are a force to be reckoned with in Division III hockey.

Since the start of the program, members of the team have been selected to the ECAC All-Conference Team as well as the ECAC All-Academic Team. Two alumni, Andrea Ciarletta ‘07 and Melissa Belmonte ‘07, are among the NCAA national leaders in career point scoring and are the first women in school history to reach 100 points.

UMass Boston’s skaters compete in one of the finest arenas in New England and face some of the stiffest competition in the region as a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference East division. The team also competes against members of the ECAC West and NESCAC conferences.
