Men's Ice Hockey

Hockey has enjoyed a storied history as part of UMass Boson's athletic program.

With an ECAC Division III championship and a 24-3 record in the 1981-82 season and a high level of success since, the Beacons annually field a team that can compete with any in the nation.

UMass Boston also plays hosts to the premier Division III hockey tournament in the nation in the Codfish Bowl. A tournament rich in tradition and popular among college hockey fans, the Codfish Bowl is the second-oldest tournament of its kind in the nation.

The Beacon hockey program has produced a number of outstanding players, including All-America defenseman Bill Innocent, and in recent years has seen forward Jeff Mead and goaltender Gene Bono move on to the professional ranks.
