Men's Basketball

One of the more prominent programs of the UMass Boston athletic department, men's basketball was one of the university's original seven varsity sports that began play in the 1980-81 season.

UMass Boston plays its home games in the Clark Athletic Center, Boston's second- largest college basketball arena with a 3,500-seat capacity. Head Coach Charlie Titus annually compiles a challenging regular-season schedule with the intention of having his team play its best basketball at the end of the year.

It's a strategy that has paid off in the form of an NCAA tournament appearance in 1983, and three appearances in the ECAC New England tournament, including a trip to the championship game in 1997.
