Women's Soccer coaching staff![]() Amy Zombeck Head Coach 617-287-7851 Amy Zombeck returns for her third season at the helm of the UMass Boston Women’s Soccer program. She made an immediate impact in her first season, guiding the team to its best winning percentage since 1997. The team also netted its highest total of goals in eight years. Zombeck saw one of her players named a Little East Conference Second Team All-Star last season to become the first player from UMass Boston since 1997 to claim the honor. Zombeck arrived at UMB after serving as the Assistant Coach for Keene State College women’s soccer for four years. Prior to joining the Keene State coaching staff, Zombeck was a highly decorated soccer player for the Owls, earning Little East Conference Player of the Year honors as a senior. The midfielder was named Second-Team All-American by the Division III National Soccer Coaches Association of America, as well as All-Regional First Team and Little East Conference First Team as both a junior and senior. Zombeck earned All-Region Second Team accolades for her junior and senior campaigns from the New England Women’s Soccer Coaches Association of America and, following her sophomore year, she was tabbed as a member of the Division II NSCAA All-Regional Second Team after leading the Owls to an appearance in the NCAA tournament. After graduating from Keene State in 1999 with a degree in sociology, Zombeck continued her career as both a coach and player. She coached in various soccer camps and leagues and enjoyed two seasons playing in the United States Independent Soccer League with the Springfield Sirens and the New Hampshire Lady Phantoms in 2001 and 2001, respectively.
A standout soccer player at University of Hartford, Love went on to the professional ranks, where he played for three outdoor teams and a pair of indoor squads over five years. He saw action in the United Soccer League as well as the National Professional Soccer League with such teams as the Maryland Mania, Charlotte Eagles, Canton Invaders, Hampton Road Mariners and the Baltimore Spirit. Love went on to coach at Howard Community College and also served as the Head Junior Varsity Coach at Howard High School, both in his hometown of Columbia, Maryland for the 2000 season. He returned to the New England area when he joined the Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School boys soccer staff as an Assistant Coach in 2006. Love graduated from University of Hartford with a degree in communications in 1993 and later earned a degree in studio art from University of Maryland in 2004. He currently resides in Cambridge with his wife Angela.
Prior to joining the Beacons’ coaching staff, Olsen was the team’s leading scorer, while starting all 17 matches during the 2004 season. The Marshfield, Massachusetts native transferred to UMass Boston from Division I Wagner College, where she played tennis for the Seahawks. While at Marshfield High School, Olsen was a two-sport standout, making her mark in soccer and lacrosse. Olsen graduated from UMass Boston in 2006 with a bachelors of science degree in Management. She currently resides in the Boston area and works for a national medical device company.
