BASEBALL COMES BACK AND HANGS ON FOR 10-9 WIN OVER WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE TO ADVANCE IN LEC TOURNAMENT
KEENE, NH – The University of Massachusetts Boston baseball team scored four runs in the top of the ninth inning and staved off a Western Connecticut State University rally to come away with a 10-9 victory today in Keene, NH in the elimination game of the Little East Conference Tournament.  The Beacons improve to 16-25 on the season and will play tomorrow at Owls Stadium on the campus of Keene State College at 12 noon with the opponent yet to be determined, while the Colonials finish their season with a 17-24 mark...full story

BRIDGEWATER, MA – Junior Jovan Jordan-Whitter captured the Flight One Singles title to lead the University of Massachusetts Boston men’s tennis team to a third-place finish at the Little East Conference Championships in Bridgewater, MA on the campus of host Bridgewater State College. UMass Boston snaps 22-game losing streak to Keene State with first-ever win over the Owls
BOSTON, MA – Junior catcher Jenn Widener (Hyde Park, MA) went 2-4 with a triple and three runs batted in to lead the University of Massachusetts Boston softball team to a 6-5 victory in the second game of a Little East Conference doubleheader with visiting Keene State College today. The win snapped a 22-game losing streak for the Beacons vs. the Owls and marked their first-ever win against Keene since their first meeting on April 18, 1998. The Owls took the opening game of the twinbill, 9-1. UMass Boston has won two of its last three games on the season and is now 5-26 overall and 2-10 in LEC play, while Keene State is 20-10 and 6-6...full story
